With Dr Sven Deutschmann taking over as Chairman of the European Compliance Academy’s (ECA) Rapid Microbiological Methods (RMM)
Working Group in October 2008, the group started new initiatives. In a first step, it organised the RMM Conference last December,
attracting close to 100 delegates. Now the group introduced a database with available RMM systems on the market.
The information compiled in this user-optimised database was collected throughout the past months and was now published in the
Working Group’s area on ECA’s website. It is exclusively accessible for group members who will find the “Rapid Microbiological
Methods Search“ in the login area.
The database covers the search criteria microbial target group, the target analysis, the range of application, the analytical method
as well as the detectable micro organisms and the development status. It also comprises costs for systems and per sample, a short
description and a direct link to the supplier.
It is the group’s goal to continuously add information on further systems available on the market. “We’d like to encourage our members
to provide any information on new systems they get or hear about, to share their experience with existing methods or questions on RMMs“,
said Dr Deutschmann. “We look forward to every mail and new entry in the discussion forum.“
In an additional initiative the RMM Group is also working with several companies on new best practice papers which will also be published on the website.
*** The 2009 RMM Conference is scheduled in Vienna, Austria, from 8-9 December 2009. Speakers from FDA, EMEA, Consulting and Industry already confirmed their attendance.
A first programme will be published soon.***
